Our Mission

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. Our goal is to empower citizens to shape better communities worldwide. To accomplish this goal, we pledge to act with trust, integrity and professionalism and to operate in an open and effective manner to meet the needs of those we serve.

We do this by:

• studying and making recommendations on key issues at all government levels
• building citizen participation in the democratic process
• engaging citizens in seeking positive solutions to community, state and national issues
